AEG was founded in Germany in 1883 as a manufacturer of electronic equipment. During the early twentieth century AEG built aircraft also, but largely remained focused on electrical technology, and the company developed the audio magnetic tape recorder in the 1940s. By the 1990s AEG had become a firmly established home appliance company.

In 1996, Electrolux bought AEG’s household appliances division, and from there the AEG brand was developed further, with a strong emphasis placed on design and quality across its product range, which includes a variety of fridges and fridge freezers.

Under Electrolux, AEG continues to attract performance- and design-conscious consumers, and its slogan: ‘Perfect in form and function,’ attracts attention to its high quality range of fridges, fridge freezers and other kitchen appliances.
