Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann founded the German company Miele in 1899. Miele makes high end domestic appliances, including washing machines, vacuum cleaners and microwave ovens.

Miele came to Britain in 1963, bringing its traditionally high standards of production, and now has a global staff of around 15,000. Throughout its history Miele has had some exciting ‘firsts’, including the manufacture of some of the world’s first computer-driven appliances in the 1970s.
