There are many freestanding larder fridges available on the market today. These standard fridges come in all sizes, such as tall, under the counter, over-sized, regular and slim-line. These appliances are also available in a variety of colours and styles, from the modern to retro designs.

Once you have decided on a size, there are a host of features to choose from. Many standard fridges have reversible doors, which can be fitted to suit your kitchen layout. Some have an icebox, humidity-controlled salad crispers, adjustable shelves and door storage racks, meat boxes to keeps foods separated or an anti-bacterial coating for extra protection. Other selling points include auto defrosting systems for greater convenience, LED displays, and containers and dispensers for both drinks and ice, which offer quick, easy refreshment.

All standard fridges have an energy rating, with A-rated appliances offering lower running costs than lower-rated models. Noise levels are also given, and the lower the number the quieter the fridge will be. Prices for standard fridges can range from around £80 to over £1,000.
